If the Bay Area has plenty of one thing, it’s creativity. You can hardly turn a corner without running into an artist, graphic designer, entrepreneur, tattoo artist, gallery owner, shop owner… you get the idea. The only problem is that this abundance of creativity is not living up to its full potential. It’s scattered. Diluted. Everyone knows that there are others out there like them, but they just can’t seem to connect.
Well, there is one easy way to get creators together to mix, meet, and mingle: It’s called competition. After all, what better reason is there to show up and meet your peers than the opportunity to show them that you’re really way better than them?
Join the Shop Wars
That’s what SHOP WARS is all about: giving everyone the chance to show each other who among them has got the best artists and designers around. The Apex Trading Company, in collaboration with Delicious Drips and 1AM Gallery presents this brand-new competition between Bay Area stores, galleries, tattoo shops, businesses, firms, hell… even corporations (if they can handle the pressure)… You name the type of business and you can bet that they’ve got an artist in line ready to represent them by designing the coolest, hottest, most creative, totally-outside-of-the-boxyest 8” DIY VINYL QEE around.
Do you think you have what it takes to impress the judges? We think you do. And let’s face it… if you don’t, you know someone that does. So pull out your creative arsenal and get ready to knock our socks off. Heck, some of us don’t wear socks, so be prepared to knock our pants off!
We’ll see you there and we expect you to come in swingin’ and ready to throw down with other Bay Area shops. After all, you’re not afraid of a little “friendly competition”… are you?
Registration for Shop Wars is due by the end of August and entries by September 18th. Bring on your best! There will be a reception for all of the shops involved on the 25th of September, one week after final entries have been submitted. There will be prizes for the top 3 finalists.
