Dragatomi is hosting the latest Custom Qee Event to round out the fall segment of Toy2R’s 15th Anniversary DIY Qee Tour and what a lineup of artists!! Sac-Town is a short hop from the Bay Area but I don’t think I would miss this if it were in New Dehli! It’s not often that I have the pleasure to introduce a completely new Toy2R platform. All the buzz has been about the two premiere signature versions of the new 5″ MiniQee platform by Toy2R, the Samurai Pumpkin Pure (B&W) and GID editions by Jon-Paul Kaiser. And while these two upcoming releases that have certainly earned the massive response they have been receiving recently, the release of this striking new platform has been somewhat overshadowed. While I will certainly be taking a good look at the amazing Samurai Pumpkin edition, I thought it was about time to put the superb new platform itself in the spotlight.

Ok, comparing Toy2R’s massive new 21″ FabriQee by Doink to Godzilla might seem like a bit of a stretch but really… these things are MONSTROUSLY BIG! Based on the original iconic Qee by Doink, one of the first artists to move to the Qee platform, this modern day version could easily provide a comfy bed for 50 of the original 2.5″ pieces.

It never did make sense to me… the whole black vs white thing. I’m talking physics here. According to science, white is all colors mashed together to form a “color” that, because it includes all colors, is able to reflect the entire visible color spectrum of light… In contrast, black is the complete absence of color thereby it diminishes, nay it even absorbs, all visible light. So why, if all these hyper-smart physicists are telling me that black is no color and white is all colors, do my crayolas tell me an entirely different story??

Yes it’s hard to believe I’d get all worked up over a piece which clearly lacks in intestinal fortitude but that’s exactly it… just LOOK at how beautifully those intestines succumb to the forces of rotting flesh and gravity. JPK has been on a winning streak, batting a solid 400+, and watching this exceptional piece run from concept to proto to reality has been breathtaking.
